Bluestone paving
Melbourne's own stone. Dense, hard-wearing and timeless on period and modern homes alike. We lay sawn, honed and sandblasted bluestone for patios, paths, steps and pool surrounds, and bluestone crazy paving for a softer, natural look.
Is bluestone good for a patio? Yes. It's one of the toughest pavers you can buy. It does hold heat in full sun, so for pool surrounds in hot spots we often suggest a lighter stone.
Travertine paving
Warm, light and cool underfoot. Travertine is Melbourne's favourite pool and alfresco stone. We lay it in French pattern, modular and tumbled finishes, with matching coping and step treads.
Limestone, sandstone & crazy paving
Limestone and sandstone suit resort-style and period designs. Crazy paving adds a relaxed, organic finish to courtyards, paths and pool surrounds.
Can you seal bluestone and natural stone?
Yes, and in most cases you should. We use penetrating (impregnating) sealers that protect against stains, salt and moss without making the stone slippery, chosen for each stone and whether it's near chlorine or salt water.
How much does natural stone paving cost?
Every job is different, so every Terraza quote is fixed-price and itemised after a free measure. These are the things that move the price:

Bluestone costs more than concrete pavers but lasts for generations. We'll price bluestone alongside alternatives so you can compare.
Travertine or bluestone around a pool?
Travertine stays cooler underfoot, so it's usually the better choice in full sun. Bluestone suits shaded or contemporary designs.
How often should stone be resealed?
Typically every few years depending on traffic, sun and water exposure. We'll give you a care guide at handover.
