A deck is only as good as what's under the boards. Every Terraza deck starts with set-out, footings and a level, braced subframe, then boards fixed with even gaps.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

Low decks close to the ground often don't, but higher decks, decks attached to the house and decks near boundaries or pools may need a building permit. We check your design against Victorian requirements before we start and arrange a building surveyor if one is needed.

How long does a deck take to build?

A typical backyard deck of 15–30 m² takes around 1 week, weather permitting.

Merbau or composite?

Merbau is warmer and cheaper up front but needs oiling. Composite costs more but only needs washing. We bring samples to your site.

Can you replace old boards on my existing deck?

Often, yes, if the subframe is sound. We check it first; if the frame is failing, we'll tell you honestly.

Do you build ramps for accessibility?

Yes. We build timber ramps with handrails and non-slip finishes for side access, bins and mobility.
